Since returning from Ireland, I decided to kickstart my health and start clean eating. I am 37 and I have never in my entire life dieted or restricted my food, I've never needed to I've always been able to rely on exercise to maintain my weight However, since having a baby, I put on 20kg and exercise alone can't seem to shift it (It's 80% what you eat and 20% exercise, I reckon) I don't have the time I used to, so I can't spend hours and hours at the gym burning off excess calories I wanted results in the most efficient way possible, without compromising my health. No drugs, no health fads or unsustainable diets. I decided to join a 12-week clean-eating bootcamp and lost 5.7kg in 2 weeks. I am on week 4, and I will check my weight this Sunday (we are advised to check only once every 2 weeks to avoid getting obsessive) Now, what's all this got to do with YOU? Well, if you are like me, you might procrastinate on your goals and wish you could get the results you want, but you can't seem to make it CLICK. I wondered how someone like me, who had never restricted her diet her entire life, could make a drastic change. And I realised there were a few key factors present that made it 10 times easier to get the results: 1- The pain of staying the same needs to be MORE than the pain of making the change-You have to be super honest with yourself. Are you ok with being in the EXACT same situation you are in now, this time next year? -If no, then you need to make changes NOW -For me, the excess weight meant my feet hurt in the morning, I found it more challenging to exercise, and I caught myself wheezing after playing with my daughter 2- A fixed tangible goal-You need a clear tangible idea of what you want to achieve, so you know what you are working towards -Instead of, I want to make more money, you can say ' I want to make x amount, from doing y' 3- A clear plan with small goals in between-You need to take action in the direction of your goals -Time is so limited, so each focused action needs to actually make a difference -I had a clear plan from the bootcamp I joined. You have a choice: -Spend hours looking for a plan online for free, OR spend a little and take a course/training that will tell you exactly what you need to do! -I am always in favour of spending a little to save me lots of time and stress
4- Intermittent rewards-We are not machines; we need breaks and rewards -I have a cheat day every Sunday where I eat cake and chips and have the best time ever! -This helps release the pressure, and I look forward to focusing back on clean eating on Monday -Give yourself breaks and treats on your journey towards your goal 5- Accountability-This is the BIGGEST factor that made the difference. The bootcamp has a WhatsApp group where we HAVE to post each meal, or we get kicked out and lose our money. -It's super motivating to see what everyone else is eating, and the accountability helps keep me focused If you can have these FIVE factors present when you are trying to get the results you want, you are 10 times more likely to achieve them. That’s all from me today. Thanks for reading Aisha Preece from Outandbeyond.com P.S. Since I started my blog in 2017, the blogging world has evolved into a totally different place. For starters, Google cannot be relied upon as a 100% reliable traffic source, and AI has made it ten times easier to create content. This means that to stand out and compete in the blogging landscape, you need to do more than just write blog posts. Authenticity and trust are essential for blogging success nowadays. With these updates in mind, it's important that you aren't following and relying on...
I think I've been away from a corporate job for so long that I've become delusional. I was complaining that my numbers aren't where I want them to be, but then I remembered... But how many hours do you work in a corporate job ?? If you were like me 15 years ago, you worked around 14 hours a day, sometimes more. I would work through my lunch break and past 5 pm to avoid the traffic and head back at 8 pm, sometimes later. With this in mind, it's miraculous that my business is not where I want...
I’ll be honest with you - my numbers have been down lately. 😱 Not because blogging “doesn’t work”… But because I haven’t actually worked on my blog. And here’s the truth no one tells you: 👉 Passive income isn’t 100% passive. Yes, digital products, affiliate sales, and blog traffic can continue to generate sales long after you hit publish. But if you stop showing up completely? Traffic slows. Engagement dips. Sales decline. It’s like planting a garden: The seeds will grow, but only if you keep...
