How to Blog… Even if You Think You’re Boring 🤫

You don’t climb mountains every weekend.
You don’t have a pet llama in your living room.
You don’t spend summers yachting in the French Riviera.

And guess what? That’s totally fine.

Because you don’t have to be wildly exciting to have a blog people love.

The truth? Your readers don’t need fireworks — they need connection.

Let’s be honest — my life right now?
It’s bottles, naps, and the occasional solo trip… to the grocery store.

Seven months ago, I had a baby, and suddenly my wild adventures became wildly different. No more spontaneous trips or hiking at sunrise. My current “travel” is from the living room to the nursery. O_O

Or traveling to the kitchen to eat Nutella toast..

But here’s the thing — that doesn’t mean I stopped blogging.

If you’re in a season of life where you can’t jet off or chase big adventures, or maybe you THINK your life is boring (trust me, it isn't), here’s how you can still blog in a way people want to read:

But first, a word from our sponsor today :)

Sponsored by: Morning Brew

The 5-Minute Newsletter That Makes Business Make Sense

Business news doesn't have to be dry. Morning Brew gives you the biggest stories in business, tech, and finance with quick wit and zero fluff. Over 4 million professionals read it every morning because it keeps them informed, entertained, and ahead of the curve. No jargon. No long reads. Just smart news that fits your day.

Now back to the tips!

1. Share your unique lens and turn the everyday into a story.
It’s not the
topic that makes a blog post interesting; it’s your perspective. Even grocery shopping can be funny if you tell it your way.

It’s not what you do, it’s how you tell it. A teething night from hell can be just as entertaining as a trip to Bali — if you tell it with honesty, humor, and detail.

For example, I often share my day in my IG stories, the highs and the lows, and my audience laugh and cry with me.

2. Share what’s real for you right now.
Readers connect to seasons of life they can relate to. Parenting, slow living, learning to balance work and family — these are stories people crave.

My community hears how I worry about my weight (I put on 20kg O_O)and battle hard to exercise... only to eat Nutella sandwiches at the slightest opportunity ...and they relate. We humans often relate to similar challenges... it. makes us human!

They also helped me design and pick vegetables in my new herb and veg garden!

3. Teach from experience.
Even if you’re not out exploring, you have lessons from your past travels, experiences or hobbies that you can share now. “What I Wish I’d Known Before Visiting X” or “How I Dealt with x” .

I often share how I dealt with a lack of boundaries or a lack of motivation in the past, and I relate it to NOW.

4. Repurpose your old adventures.
You have stories, photos, and tips from your “on the road” days — bring them back with fresh commentary or updates from your current perspective.

I love recounting old memories and sharing old journeys with my audience of beautiful places I've been, they love it too!

Example: my favorite place in the world... New Zealand!

You don’t need to be climbing mountains right now to write something worth reading.
Sometimes, the smallest life moments leave the biggest impact.

Thats all from me today, thanks for reading!

You know the type. The person who slides into your DMs with “Can I pick your brain real quick?” … and suddenly you’ve written them a full consultation — for free. It happens to every business owner and blogger at some point. And while generosity is part of who we are, here’s the truth: you can’t build a sustainable business if you give away all your time and expertise, all the time. Since becoming a new mom, I've had to rein in my tendencies to voice note and message complete in-depth...

Recently, I haven't had the capacity to work on my blogs much :( It's summer and family time in Ireland, my 7-month-old wants to party at 2 am and 6am, and I think I have postpartum arthritis, which makes me feel so damn tired.all. the. time. O_O This is what summer in ireland looks like by the way ! Pretty awesome. BUT I've still been able to earn significant revenue by posting on social media Social media seems much easier when I am pressed for time A quick post, a pic on my IG story, or I...

'Build and they will come'.... ...is a myth and actually, really bad business advice! I was power walking with a good friend recently, and we all know, the best pow wow talks happen during power walks! She mentioned her yoga instructor, who was really struggling to grow her business. 'Often it's just me there, and I feel really bad for her. She told me: Everyone said, build it and they will come! Well here I am, I've built a yoga site and no one is coming to support me!. It's been 4 years. I...
