Delusion and 80 hour workweeks O_O

I think I've been away from a corporate job for so long that I've become delusional.

I was complaining that my numbers aren't where I want them to be, but then I remembered...

But how many hours do you work in a corporate job ??

If you were like me 15 years ago, you worked around 14 hours a day, sometimes more.

I would work through my lunch break and past 5 pm to avoid the traffic and head back at 8 pm, sometimes later.

With this in mind, it's miraculous that my business is not where I want it to be....When I've only put in a few hours a WEEK, yes, a week, over the last 9 months?

Yet, my blogs have still generated enough income to pay my husband and me a decent salary, cover our trips, and help us save. It's kind of ... amazing O_O

This was the kind of freedom I only DREAMED about in 2010.

Seeing as I was willing to work 70-80 hour workweeks in my corporate job, I am happy to start working more on my business once I return from Ireland.

We fly back to Malaysia next week. And I am making arrangements for someone to help out a few hours a day with little Niamh (my daughter), so I can FOCUS.

(Although not affordable for locals, childcare here still costs less than USD200 a month, which is affordable if you own blogs that earn in USD... Fellow parents, please start a blog, at the very least it can pay for childcare!)

I am really, really looking forward to it!

My plan :

1- Find good topics to write for Pinterest

2- Write them, add affiliate links

3- Learn more about Flipboard and Facebook traffic

4- Create a few digital products

5- Repeat

I'll keep it simple because simple has always worked for me, and most importantly, I will take action and put in the hours to achieve the results I want.

Less talking, more action, or in my case, holidaying, more action.

I think I may have taken this whole work-life balance a bit too far and not worked much over the last 12 months, ha!

ADDITIONAL SIDE NOTE

If you want to feel better about your corporate job, read this book. It's the horrifying state work-life many lawyers experience, you will actually feel sorry for them!

I couldn't put it down, and it made me feel much better about my life O_O

I’ll be honest with you - my numbers have been down lately. 😱 Not because blogging “doesn’t work”… But because I haven’t actually worked on my blog. And here’s the truth no one tells you: 👉 Passive income isn’t 100% passive. Yes, digital products, affiliate sales, and blog traffic can continue to generate sales long after you hit publish. But if you stop showing up completely? Traffic slows. Engagement dips. Sales decline. It’s like planting a garden: The seeds will grow, but only if you keep...

When I wanted to start earning money from a blog and begin my journey of making money blogging, I just started writing and hoped for the best I had zero plan on how exactly my blog could make me money To be honest, I thought : Let's get lots of traffic, and the rest will come However, I had no plan for generating a lot of traffic either! Let’s be honest — most of us are guilty of this… We publish content without thinking: HOW will it make me money?? We get caught up in writing, editing,...

Hey there When I went on maternity leave, I thought I had it all figured out. (Well, the business part, not the being a new mom part - I was pretty clueless about that.) Still am actually....O_O) I’d step back, enjoy those precious newborn moments, and my business would just… keep running. But here’s the truth: 👉 I hadn’t set up any NEW digital products. I set up automated emails to run and thought, YAY!, its all running in the background while I figure out how to sterilise a bottle and try...
