How I Overcame A Pinterest Suspension 😱 Fri 28th march

I woke up at 3 am to feed my newborn daughter and decided to check my emails to help keep me awake.

I saw one of my Pinterest accounts got suspended; the email I received was below:

So, where was I?

I received an email that my account was suspended.

BuT, I am still on maternity leave, so my hands are pretty tied up - I simply do not have the capacity to jump in and put out fires right now.

So I immediately messaged my new Pinterest VA , I hired her to help while I am on maternity leave.

She said it must have been this new strategy we were trying (I took a new Pinterest course, and I wanted to try something different)

Side note- We later discovered the new strategy was fine, she just misunderstood my instructions and implemented it wrong, so my account looked spammy O_O

Alarmingly, the traffic and revenue for this blog, ground to a halt overnight.

Here is what I did to fix it, incase you too, face the same situation

1- Reminded myself no one died, and if I could grow an account once, I can grow it again

2- Made a decision to appeal multiple times for 2 weeks, and if it were still suspended, I would create a NEW Pinterest account for the same blog.

3- Appealed every 2 days.

Here was one of my appeals :

'I just recently had a baby , she's only 4 weeks (you can check on my Instagram to verify its true, my IG is @aishapreece). I am trying to juggle my blogging business with being a new mom.I just noticed an account suspension, but I am a real person who tries to share useful content on my xxxx blog on Pinterest and my blog. This suspension is incorrect, but if there is a mistake or a violation, I will try my best to remove any offending content and continue to post valuable content for Pinterest users. Please help. I desperately need this Pinterest account, its the main traffic source and income for my blog :( I just checked the spam guidelines and I haven't violated any of the spam guidelines. Please help!''

After 4-5 appeals, I received this email :

I want to share this super useful article which helped me during this stressful time!

She shared her tips on how to get a suspended account back

Some lessons from this experience

1- Dont implement new strategies with a new staff member when you are on leave

Its your business and your responsibility, people may make mistakes but the buck lies with you.

2- DIVERSIFY

Traffic and income for the blog, both. You are one algorithm away from blog destruction. Think ahead.

3- Be a real human

A real human reviews your appeal. Lean into your authentic human self. This is something no AI tool can take away from you.

4- Draw a line under it

There comes a time when you get sick of reacting to blog traffic dips

Expect them, embrace them. No one dies

5- Make hay while the sun shines and then save it

The reason I didn't panic, was because any money I make for this blog, I pay off the costs and save the rest.

I am frugal and careful in the good times, which saves my back, in the bad times and helps keep me afloat.

6- Learn the skill, ONCE, reap the rewards forever

If you can grow a Pinterest account once, you can do it again

If traffic drops, you can fix it

If your account gets suspended, you start another one

In another future email, I can share how I overcame a Pinterest violation for another account.

Reply to this email and let me know if you want me to share what I did!

I seem to have lost my mojo over the last week or so :( I've lost the motivation to do work or anything really... I feel like I am in this endless cycle of feeding my newborn, changing diapers, and putting her to sleep.... again and again and again. It feels incredibly lonely. I can't really do much as all my energy and focus is on her, and it makes me feel a bit isolated, to be honest. I don't know the solution to this, but I'd love to hear any if you have any? Anyway, I tried to get my arse...

You may have heard about the recent Mediavine move to mass ban sites using AI. Many bloggers logged into their Mediavine dashboard, only to discover they were kicked out I also received an email from Mediavine's CEO sharing his hard stance against low-quality AI-generated sites. ' He also provided a form that allowed anyone to report excessive/misuse of AI.πŸ₯Ά Word on the street is that they will also report banned sites to other ad networks so they, too, can reject low-quality sites. They also...

It's very easy to say blogging and driving traffic to your blog from Google is dead. I also know it's been over a year since these updates ravaged many of our sites. Nevertheless, there comes a point where we need to stop talking about the problem and start finding solutions. For some of us, its diversifying into other platforms, some are improving their blogs, and some of us are doing both. I am in the final group. We keep innovating and trying or we give up. So, why are some blogs still...
