Feeding Meat To A Bunny

I seem to have lost my mojo over the last week or so :(

I've lost the motivation to do work or anything really...

I feel like I am in this endless cycle of feeding my newborn, changing diapers, and putting her to sleep.... again and again and again.

It feels incredibly lonely.

I can't really do much as all my energy and focus is on her, and it makes me feel a bit isolated, to be honest.

I don't know the solution to this, but I'd love to hear any if you have any?

Anyway, I tried to get my arse into gear and I created a reel on Instagram recently, I'd love to hear what you think and if you have a moment, leave a comment, it all helps!

Now, in other news..

I made an interesting observation recently about this email newsletter and my social media.

I think I have been force-feeding my audience with content .... that doesn't always resonate.

Its a bit like feeding meat to a bunny- its forced, unappealing, and feels downright wrong.

Why?

1- Because I wanted to be useful and helpful and provide value

2- I wanted to provide solutions to problems

3- I thought I should ...because all the experts told me to niche down

Before I get into it, here's a quick sponsor break

So, back to force-feeding

After giving birth, I've been pretty turned off by work-related content on social media or anything related to the word ' hustle'.

It made me feel like I was behind, and actually, my brain just didn't (and doesn't) have the capacity.

I wanted to read and consume uplifting content about travel, families, food, funny memes, and generally, relaxing relatable content about people going about their normal days and finding the joy in ... the average.

Here is the reality : This is 90% of people in the world

We want an escape to help us make life a bit brighter , not more content on hustle and work, to make us feel worse

What's that got to do with your reading this?

You may think that you need to 'niche down' , or 'find a niche' to blog about

You may think you need to only post useful tips about a specific topic and keep focusing on that.

You may think you always need to provide specific tips and rigid advice on 'how to'

But actually, YOU, with all your unique life experiences tackling life, IN your niche, is what your readers are interested in

I'll give you an example, a travel blog

You can try and make every social media post and email about specific travel tips ie 11 places to visit in lisbon under $100, how to use credit card points to travel free OR

  • You can mention the food you eat, or the time you got food poisoning (food niche)
  • Or the cute romance you managed to strike up (love and relationships)
  • Or how your body is now bloated and clothes you are wearing to look slimmer (fashion)
  • Or the skincare you use on the road

Its all helpful and its waaayyy more relatable, it makes you human

And it's the human connection you build from your emails and social media that builds a true resilient brand that makes lots of recurring money, as people continue to like and support your business

Just want you to think about that

Let loose, start writing, and start sharing your human experiences
