A new direction for my blog

Lately, I’ve been in a strange phase with my work.

For the last 8+ years, my blogs have been my business.

They gave me freedom.

Income.

Even the ability for my husband and me to take a long sabbatical together.

But this year feels different.

I’m now running the same business while raising a baby.

And I’m realizing something:

The way I used to work doesn’t fit my life anymore.

My time looks different.

My priorities look different.

Even the content I want to create feels different.

For a while, I thought something was wrong.

Maybe I had lost motivation.

Maybe I was falling behind.

But I’m starting to see it differently.

Maybe this is just a new season.

Less hustle.

More intention.

More building a life that actually feels good day-to-day.

And sharing what it takes to make that happen.

Because of that, I’m going to start sharing more personal reflections, stories, and insights on my blog.

Things I’m learning about work, motherhood, money, productivity, and building a meaningful life.

Going forward, I’m planning to share more personal reflections, stories, and lessons from my life and business.

Things like:

  1. Why did my husband go back to a traditional 9–5 job after years of online work?
  2. The biggest financial mistake I made in 2024 (I am still paying for it right now)
  3. What I’ve learned from hiring writers and outsourcing work
  4. The reality of running a blog business for 8+ years
  5. How becoming a mother changed the way I think about ambition
  6. What blogging income actually looks like behind the scenes
  7. The systems that help me run my business with a baby at home
  8. Lessons I learned after taking a long sabbatical
  9. The moment I realised blogging had changed my life
  10. What I would do if I had to rebuild my blog business today
  11. The hardest part of running an online business no one talks about
  12. How my priorities changed after having a baby
  13. My biggest blogging regrets
  14. The financial trade-offs of entrepreneurship
  15. Why online income is less stable than people think
  16. The truth about passive income no one talks about

I’m curious which of these you’d like me to write about next.

Just hit reply with the number, and I’ll write that one next.

Talk soon,

Thanks for reading

I set up my second travel blog right after the pandemic, while I was motorbiking through Malaysia with my brother. I'll tell you why : Because it's...

Happy Chinese New Year to those in my community who celebrate it! Recently, I mentioned that I ran an in-person affiliate marketing workshop. You can see how much fun we had here! There were many engaging and useful parts to this workshop, but one section in particular had everyone's eyes widen in surprise. You see, quite a few participants owned blogs but had given up on them because they felt it was so hard to monetise. :( In fact, the workshop was primarily about teaching them how they...
